In the exhibited paintings I worked with layers and texture; adding, subtracting and adding again. There is a point where the figurative begins to emerge from the deeper levels, like something half remembered.
As images arise and disappear into the shifting surface of the painting, each piece prodded me in new and unexpected directions. |
