The SAORI philosophy invites you to “look out with eyes that shine” and see beauty in new ways. Learn about SAORI-style clothing from tops to skirts, ponchos to bags. SAORI’s unique style and assymetry can highlight your handwoven fabric. We will look at possibilities to inspire your creativity with one-of-a-kind clothing. About TerriTerri Bibby is a SAORI freestyle weaver and designer, creating one-of-a-kind asymmetric clothing, scarves, wraps, bags and wall hangings in the SAORI style. In her SAORI Salt Spring studio in the woods on Salt Spring Island, Terri offers classes, workshops and retreats. She is inspired by the ever changing colours and textures of nature that surround her. Terri has facillitated over 1500 people Weaving for Peace on beautiful Peace Banners that have been displayed around the world. Terri’s background is in traditional weaving, but in 2005 she discovered the SAORI freestyle approach to weaving. This unique style of weaving originated in Japan. SAORI Salt Spring is currently the only studio in Canada that is part of this Global Network of SAORI studios offering classes and as a distributor of the SAORI books, yarns, looms and weaving accessories. |
