Salt Spring Books

Your community bookstore, Salt Spring Books is an island institution. As well as stocking magazines and art supplies, the bookstore is a proud supporter of local writers, hosting many workshops and launches. 

This month's feature artist is Evelyn Russell, printmaker.

The collograph is a form of intaglio printmaking, similar to etching. The process is conducive to creating highly embossed paper prints filled with texture. With collographs I am able to use a traditional printmaking technique in a modern experimental way. 
      
All together I enjoy the endless experimentation that keeps me interested in this wonderful medium. Though collographs are my focus I also use other media in my art making including drawing, painting, and papermaking.
